Measure

2d6 resolution mechanic.

The target numbers that players are hoping to roll inside are called your window. The base window starts at 7 for everyone.

Widening a Measure: When a rule instructs you to widen a Measure, expand its success window by one result. The idea is that 7 is always centered and +1s are always adding just 1 number to the window. If the expansion would be uneven, widen toward the lower number first.
+0 - Start at 7. (Good luck is always a factor - 16.67% in this case.)
+1 - From 7 to 6-7.
+2 - From 6-7 to 6-8.
+3 - From 6-8 to 5-8.
+4 - From 5-8 to 5-9.
+5 - From 5-9 to 4-9.
+6 - From 4-9 to 4-10.
+7 - From 4-10 to 3-10.
+8 - From 3-10 to 3-11.

Measures can never be widened more than 3-11. 2-12 will always Fumble. (Bad luck is always a factor - 5.56%, 1/3 as often as good luck.)

Multiple widenings stack unless a Means says otherwise.

Narrowing a Measure follows the same process in reverse.
