Dexterity-Based Combat
#means #dexterity
Dexterity-Based Combat is about reading and exploiting. The dexterity fighter capitalizes on states that already exist — opponent mistakes, overcommitments, structural vulnerabilities. They manufacture openings through timing and precision rather than pressure.
Level 1 — Weapon Training Entry node. Proficient with Dexterity-based weapons. Apply Dexterity bonus to attack windows.
Level 2 — Precise Strike On a clean hit: damage + Wounded on a limb of your choice. You're targeting vulnerability, not overwhelming with force.
Level 2 — Feint (branch) 1 action, no attack roll. Your next attack this turn may treat a Complicated success as a Clean hit. You manufactured the opening.
Level 3 — Disarm (requires Precise Strike) On a clean hit against a target with a Wounded arm: damage + Disarmed.
Level 3 — Riposte (requires Feint) After an opponent Misses against you, you may immediately counter. On a clean hit: deal damage + Exposed. You punish overcommitment with precise placement, skipping straight to the severe state.
Level 4 — Hamstring (requires Precise Strike) On a clean hit against a target with a Wounded leg: damage + Entangled. If already Entangled, progresses to Rooted.
Level 4 — Exploit (requires Riposte) On a clean hit against an Exposed target: impose any movement state (Entangled, Rooted, Prone) in addition to damage, without requiring target to be Wounded first. You're fast enough to find those openings directly.
